When Eva, an 11-year-old Greek-Romanian girl with a speech impediment, loses both her parents in an accident on the same day, Lucas, her reclusive and racist grandfather whom she has never met, is the only relative who can take custody of her. However, he stubbornly refuses. Marina, a 40-year-old social worker with a broken family, decides to take charge of Eva's uncertain destiny. She chooses to confront Lucas and his past, compelling both him and herself to face their redemption for the first time.

Yorgos Gkikapeppas

Twice awarded the International Film Critics Award (Fipresci Prize) one for each of his two feature films Silent and The City of Children Yorgos Gkikapeppas was born and lives in Athens, Greece. He worked at cinema, theatre and recently in television, writing and directing mini series.
