Theresa and Robert are two committed yet far from talented con-artists, who have transformed their daughter into an accomplice in their (extremely low-scale) scamming and swindling schemes. However, when outsider Melanie joins their tightly knit group, the awakening bells are ringing loud and clear. What sets out as a whimsical blend of oddball comedy and unconventional crime story is soon transformed into a melancholic coming-of-age journey of self-discovery.
