Reconstruction

Reconstituirea

Two young students get wildly drunk one night and get into a violent fight in a bar. A few days later, they are led back to the scene of the crime by a prosecutor, a party secretary, a police officer, a teacher and a film crew. Instead of going to jail, the two of them will have to play in a state-sponsored educational documentary film against alcoholism. But the reenactment will have a far more tragic outcome than the real-life events. Hailed as the “freest Romanian film of all time,” the second feature of the recently deceased legendary figure of Romanian cinema blurs the boundaries between reality and fiction, authority and revolt.
