Ghost Town Anthology

Répertoire des villes disparues

60th TIFF: Greek Premiere

A village in Quebec is stunned by the loss of a 21-year-old man. Although it isn’t clear if it was an accident or a suicide, everyone suspects the latter. While the community is overwhelmed by grief and unspoken guilt, a series of uncanny events take place: muted silhouettes appear out of the blue, mysterious sounds coming from nowhere. Elliptical and enigmatic, an atmospheric allegory for the withering of small communities, the fear of the Other, the collective memory denial.
