Dirty God

Dirty God

60th TIFF: Greek Premiere

After an acid attack that left her with severe facial burns, Jade, a divorced young mother, needs to come to terms with her scars, both physical and mental, reclaim her life and redefine her identity. A powerful indictment of the quiet, unspoken misogyny that pervades contemporary society, avoiding subtly clichés, as well as of the selfie-obsessed world of social media “beauty” that has taken over everyday life. A down-to-earth drama about the deconstruction of traditional social roles and estrangement in a fragmented society.
