Out of Tune

De Frivillige

60th TIFF: Greek Premiere

Accused of large-scale investment fraud, a multimillionaire is remanded in custody. Soon, prison turns out to be quite hostile a place for self-assured, bigmouth white-collars like himself. When transferred in a special department where the most despised criminals, such as rapists and pedophiles, are being held in solitary confinement, he grabs the chance to shine as an experienced manipulator. Far from being Pavarotti, he joins the choir, aiming even for the position of choir leader, charming both inmates and guards. A cleverly executed and performed dramedy achieving a tricky balance; a parable about the flawed yet ever-vain human behavior.
