60th TIFF: Greek Premiere

Luís Rovisco is a divorced old man, who wishes to quit his boring job. His latest assignment drives him to the south of Portugal, where the flame of a past love is reignited, while the line separating reality and fantasy becomes increasingly blurred. Absurd images – landscapes transformed into painting, people chanting out of the blue – overflow everything around him, portraying his inner transformation. Formerly alone and bitter, Rovisco realizes that companionship and openness might lead to happiness after all. A comedic road movie that offers a refreshing gaze upon the uphill road of aging.
