Laura has just arrived in Madrid, where she will be living in a student hall of residence and studying for a degree in chemistry. Alone and almost penniless, she tries to adjust to university life while struggling with her insecurities. One night, by chance, she meets David, a young man with cerebral palsy who lives with his mother, Isabel. Laura forms a relationship of mutual trust with them that helps her to overcome her complexes and enter a new stage in her life on the way toward maturity. A story about that moment in life when everything is possible and about how the most unexpected encounter changes our life.

Fernando Franco

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication by the University of Seville and certified in the speciality of Editing by the Madrid Film School (Ecam), Fernando Franco (Seville, 1976) has edited some thirty feature-length films, being nominated for a Goya award in this category on four occasions: Blancanieves (Pablo Berger, 2012), Que dios nos perdone (Rodrigo Sorogoyen, 2016), Viaje al cuarto de una madre (2018) and Black Beach (Esteban Crespo, 2021). In parallel, he has developed his own projects. In 2013 he released his first feature film, La herida, which received the Special Jury Prize and Silver Shell for Best Actress (Marian Álvarez) at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. The film traveled extensively to festivals and among others received the Goya Award for Best New Director and Best Actress, as well as a nomination for the European Discovery Award by the European Film Academy.
