Sofia Georgovassili

She grew up in Athens, Greece, where she also completed her drama studies in 2007. Currently based between London and Athens, she works as an actress and cinematographer. Her first lead part in the feature film Black Field (Mavro Livadi, 2009, Greece) won her the Best Actress Award in the Seville European Film Festival in 2010. Since 2013 she has been directing her own films. Her first work as a director was the low budget short And No More Shall We Part, which premiered at Athens International Film Festival, followed by the 2016 audiovisual piece Inner Space: Siberia, commissioned by, and performed at, Unsound Festival, in Vladivostok and Krakow.
