The Pleasure of Being Robbed

A curious and lost Eleonore looks for something everywhere, even in the bags of strangers who find themselves sadly smiling only well after she’s left their lives. They owe her their thanks. It is a portrait of loneliness at its guttural worst and best, funniest and saddest, real and unreal, under the blanket and atop.

Josh Safdie

I was born and raised in New York. My brother and I lived in front of my father’s camera, who introduced us to film. Eight years ago, friends and myself started a film collective called Red Bucket Films. The Pleasure of Being Robbed screened at the “Directors’ Fortnight”, Cannes IFF 2008.
