Thessaloniki Locarno Industry Academy 

The Thessaloniki International Film Festival and the Locarno Film Festival are launching the application call for ‘Industry Academy’, a joint initiative that takes place in Thessaloniki for the tenth consecutive year, aiming to give a significant boost to the careers of young film professionals. We are expecting your applications!

After the previous successful editions, the latest edition of the Industry Academy will take place during the 66th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, which takes place from October 30 to November 9, 2025 with the support of the Ministry of Culture. 

The Thessaloniki Locarno Industry Academy is part of the Locarno Industry Academy network, which includes the Latin America Locarno Industry Academies: Mexico Industry Academy, São Paulo Industry Academy, Colombia Industry Academy, Santiago Industry Academy, and the Beirut-Locarno Industry Academy, Southern Africa Industry Academy, South Asia Industry Academy, NYC Industry Academy.

The Thessaloniki Locarno Industry Academy designs a tailor-made programme for 6-8 selected participants providing each with a better understanding of the local and worldwide film industry, at the same time encouraging them in active discussion about current global trends and developments. Of course, they will also get to enjoy the special experience of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival.

The program will take place from November 1 to November 6 in the Agora of the 66th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, aiming to educate young film professionals.

The Academy offers to participants sessions with high-profile and experienced professionals and experts including sales agents, distributors, exhibitors, heads of marketing departments, festival programmers and producers. Participants can directly interact and exchange opinions/visions with their colleagues and guest speakers and they will, also, have access to a number of professional events, particularly in the context of the Agora, to gain a better overview of market activities and an understanding of the challenges faced by European and international key players in the film industry.

The official language of the Industry Academy is English.

The deadline for applications is Monday, August 18th.
