Murky Waters

In 2015 Mo and a Danish group of volunteers, Team Humanity, decide to travel to Greece to aid the thousands of refugees that arrive on the island of Lesbos. Upon arrival they soon realise the actual scope of the humanitarian crises unfolding and with no established or professional organisation present everything is in the hands of inexperienced volunteers. Team Humanity is soon praised by worldwide media for their heroic acts and looks unlike any other rescue organisation on the island. Many of the members have themselves once fled their countries of birth such as Palestine and Iraq. They know what being a refugee feels like and this only seems to fuel their eagerness to help and their understanding of the ones in need. As the weather worsens on the island and the amount of refugees arriving increases, tension amongst the volunteers rises. The question is whether Mo and his team have in fact violated the black and white framework of the law in their attempt to save people. Are means to an end not justifiable if the means save human lives?
