Kumiko the Treasure Hunter

A lonely Japanese woman becomes convinced that a satchel of money buried in a fictional film is, in fact, real. Abandoning her structured life in Tokyo for the frozen Minnesota wilderness, she embarks on an impulsive quest to search for her lost mythical fortune.

David Zellner

David and Nathan Zellner are filmmakers based out of Austin, Texas. They were born in Greeley, Colorado. David and Nathan Zellner have been making films together since they were children, writing, producing, and directing numerous shorts, animations, and music videos that have screened and received awards at various festivals worldwide. In 2005, they made their Sundance FF debut with the short film Flotsam/Jetsam, followed by the shorts Redemptitude and Aftermath on Meadowlark Lane at the 2006 and 2007 Festivals. They won international acclaim with their 2014 feature Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter. Since then they have carved out a spot in the film world delivering unique projects with varying tones such as 2018’s Damsel staring Robert Pattinson.
