Little Pioneers

Socially neglected children, taking care of themselves, go stealing and breaking the law. They argue with their parents who neither understand them nor have feelings for them. The children speak freely of their experiences before the camera, relating tales of life on the street, of theft, abuse and violence. One of them is little Pirika, whom we meet again 45 years later in Pirika on Film. As a counterpoint to this story, we see a TV show where a popular actor-entertainer Gula (Dragoljub Milosavljevic) addresses happy and carefree children. The title is taken from a pioneer song of the time.
