Caniba

Caniba

20th TDF: Greek premiere

A fresco about flesh and desire that reflects on the discomfiting significance of cannibalism in human existence. Through our encounter with the Japanese cannibal Issei Sagawa and the exploration of his mysterious relationship with his brother, we realize that cannibalism is much closer to the human condition than most of us ever suppose, because of its affinities to sexuality and spirituality, and the fact that it states more clearly than any other gesture the desire to become One with the Other, and the longing for Atonement.
