Uncle Yanco

Uncle Yanco

“In the aquatic suburbia of San Francisco lives a Greek on a barge. He paints celestial and Byzantine cities. He receives hippies and protesters in his houseboat. I discovered he was my uncle in America and what a wonderful man he was,” says Agnès Varda about this first act of autobiography and the first film she shot under the warm Californian sun.
