A Rifle and a Bag

Somi and her husband fell in love and became parents of two children while fighting alongside the Naxalites, a Maoist guerilla group in India, active since the late 60s. After a decade of armed struggle, the couple deserted the movement and surrendered to the authorities. Ever since, they have been striving to forge a new identity, doing their best to reconcile a violent past with the fervent desire to integrate into a hostile society. Amidst the darkness of everyday reality, the viewers empathize with a pair of lost souls caught in existential limbo, while exploring the complicated moral issues of political engagement.
