NIKKI

Nikki is a bright 12-year-old kid who loves to draw and is excited about going to High School. Like any 12-year-old, she’s about to become a teenager and experience all the challenges of adolescence. However, at home, things are far from normal… Nikki has to care for her mentally disturbed mother with no help from her absent and drug-addicted father. As she grows up in a dangerously unstable environment and navigates between the search for her own identity and loyalty towards her parents, this gifted young person finds it very hard to talk about her impossible situation – but she often resorts to drawing as a way to vent her emotions. A powerful documentary that seeks to capture the power of love and family in both its brightest and darkest moments, inviting the viewer to a profound emotional journey.
