Koropa

In the dark night, off the Comoros archipelago, little Patron learns how to become a “commandant”. The orphan boy is ready to take his first clandestine passengers to the island of Mayotte. Under the guidance of his “stepfather,” who is aware that his apprentice won’t be prosecuted by the border guards due to his young age, Patron is practicing smuggling immigrants. The first cinematic work of a young photographer captures a chilling, decisive moment in the dark history of contemporary immigration.
