The Grown-Ups

An open-hearted, generous documentary about a group of 40-year-old friends who have been classmates almost all their lives. Now they are sick and tired of being students and no longer want to comply with school regulations. They always believed that when their parents died they would be able to do everything they weren’t allowed to do before, like live on their own, drive, hang out, have sex, get married, become parents, and have a real job. But things have not changed for them; they have Down Syndrome and have to deal with the frustration of living as if they were still ten years old. They are grown-ups and want to be treated as such. What happens to the kids who want to grow up but instead grow old?
