She Will

She Will

62nd TIFF: Greek Premiere

After a double mastectomy, Veronica Ghent goes to a healing retreat in rural Scotland with her young nurse. She discovers that the process of such surgery opens up questions about her very existence, leading her to start to question and confront past traumas. The two develop an unlikely bond as mysterious forces give Veronica the power to enact revenge within her dreams. A haunting psychological thriller that drives the audience in a state of metaphysical ecstasy through a light breeze that reveals layers of images and symbols, made by one of the most daring surrealist multi-media artists of our times.

Charlotte Colbert

A Franco-British multimedia artist whose work straddles film, photography, ceramic, and sculpture, Charlotte Colbert likes to conflate reality and fiction. With a background in philosophy and an interest for language, psychoanalysis, and the socio-political constructions of gender and identity, Colbert blends the surreal and the fictitious with the realness of her documentary creative process that seeks to reveal the truth and the most intimate emotions that lie beneath the surface. Two of her most iconic works, Benefit Supervisor Sleeping (2017) and Mastectomy Mammeria (2019), are currently featured in the online exhibition Her Dark Materials.
