Sonic Youth: Sleeping Nights Awake

As part of the nonprofit group Project Moonshine, a group of teenagers were given digital cameras to capture the Sonic Youth concert held on July 2006 in Reno as well as a series of personal interviews from those involved in the tour, including band members Thurston Moore, Kim Gordon, and Lee Ranaldo. Through confessions from the band and the many people that ensure the tour’s success behind the scenes, the film provides an intimate exploration into the Sonic Youth machine – one that illuminates the power of innovation and accessibility while giving new and old fans alike a cinematic all-access pass.
