Coping with her mother’s fast-metastasizing cancer, a young son she’s raising without a partner, and corruption charges against her at work, Silvia is pushed to the verge of despair, if not a breakdown. A naturalistic melodrama, of pointed dialogues and light-footed camera work, which nails the unconstrained flow of life. A tender portrait of a brave woman’s struggle to stay afloat even when everything around her drugs her down. A low-key sonata that does not resort to emotional outbursts, but flourishes in its precisely rendered snapshots of dignity and self-awareness.

Franco Lolli

Colombian director Franco Lolli is a graduate of the renowned film school La Fémis. His short film Como todo el mundo won the Grand Prize of the Jury in Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival. His first feature film Decent People was unveiled at the International Critic’s Week of the Cannes Film Festival and was screened in more than seventy international festivals, winning several prizes and awards. His sophomore feature Litigante was selected to open the International Critic’s Week of the Cannes Film Festival.
