The “Flock” is a hair-raising group of about 20 women living as forest squatters, who have placed all their faith to a self-appointed Messiah. The sun to their planets is “The Shepherd,” whom they worship with their bodies as well as their minds: their offspring have been kept at a fearful distance from the outside world. As the “Sisterhood” is in search of a new Eden to dwell in, the Shepherd’s protégée, a “pure” teen whose mother died in childbirth, begins to question his despotic authority. A haunting fable of visual poetics, hypnotic pace and uncanny atmosphere, that blasts blind submission to patriarchy suppression.
