The Realm

El Reino

Manuel Vidal is a ruthless politician, determined to satisfy his raging ambition by climbing up the party ladder. When murky tales of embezzlement and corruption (placing him and fellow colleagues in the dock) reach the media, he finds himself in a maelstrom of document-shredding and excuse-peddling. Coming to realize that his colleagues have designated him as the official scapegoat, Manuel engages in a spiraling struggle for survival. A painstaking account of the fall of a fiefdom that was destined to last forever, which navigates through the somber corridors of plotting and backstabbing. A political thriller of merciful pace and surgical precision, evoking the masters of its genre.
