Sometimes I Think About Dying

Sometimes I Think About Dying

64th TIFF: Greek Premiere
Despite Fran’s frequent contemplation of death, often in rather imaginative scenarios, she decides to attempt a date with Robert, her new colleague, whose arrival adds a touch of novelty to her otherwise banal office life. Just because there's chemistry between them doesn't necessarily make it an easy task for her to break free from the safety of her introverted shell. Yet, who said that a film openly addressing emotional and social isolation can’t simultaneously become an unexpectedly warm and sincere romantic comedy, defying all the conventions of the genre? In the most obscure and uneventful corner of Oregon, anything is possible, especially when it stars the wonderfully melancholic Daisy Ridley (known as Rey from the latest Star Wars trilogy) and is guided by the empathetic gaze of Rachel Lambert.
