58th TIFF: Greek Premiere

In this hallucinatory and hallucinating journey to the end of the world as we know it, two lovers wander on the empty streets of Madrid searching for a rave party. It’s New Year’s Eve of December 2017 – or is it the dawn of the new Millenium? A tunnel will lead them to the night just before the forest, in an endless loop of visual stimuli. Under the influence of the same substances that immerse the characters in a unique trance, we join them in witnessing New Europe burning.

Miguel Ángel Pérez Blanco

Miguel Ángel Pérez Blanco is a PhD student in Audiovisual Communication. After studying several workshops about filmmaking and a training module in editing, he entered the ECAM (The Madrid Film School), specialising in film direction. His first short Road to the Atlantic (ECAM, 2011) got selected in more than 20 national and international film festivals and also got several awards. In 2012, he founded the production company Zapruder Films. EUROPA is his first feature film.
