The Wild Boys

Les Garçons sauvages

The first feature film by a sworn lover of film and daring iconoclast who blends the macabre with the burlesque focuses on a group of teenage boys who commit a crime in early 20th century Réunion. To punish them, a Dutch captain takes them on his haunted sailboat and, as he embarks for a magic island, becomes their tyrant and master. Lord of the Flies meets the aesthetic legacy of Walerian Borowczyk, in a universe full of literature and film references, which manages to remain unique.
