Once a misunderstood decade, the 80s come back at Thessaloniki from October 31st to November 10th 2019. The 60th Thessaloniki International Film Festival asked the Greek director and musician The Boy (Alexandros Voulgaris) to dive into the 80s and pick ten films full of horror, tenderness, humor and music.
We are happy to inform you that the 60th anniversary Thessaloniki International Film Festival presents a big exhibition dedicated to the artistic work of Greek director Nikos Koundouros. The opening will take place during the 60th Thessaloniki International Film Festival (October 31st until November 10th 2019) in a space specifically modified for the exhibition in the Pier A of the Port of Thessaloniki.
The anniversary 60th Thessaloniki International Film Festival invites audience and filmmakers to the large celebration of global independent cinema, showcasing the best films from all over the world, important guests and tributes, cinematic surprises, as well as a series of parallel events. Film submissions are now open.
Are there children’s films in Southeast Europe? How many films from the region are shown in cinemas? Why so few directors from Southeast Europe shoot films for children? A large study by Thessaloniki Film Festival, called “Films for Kids in Southeast Europe: The State of Play” attempts to answer the aforementioned and other questions.
