A spacious apartment in Syria’s war zone becomes a refuge for the housewife of this household, her children, the boyfriend of one of her daughters, her father-in-law, a neighbor and her baby, and a maid; when in the outside world bombs are dropping and snipers flood the streets, this small community struggles to remain standing by following a routine. The masterful camera movement transform this rather theatrical setting into an atrocious, rambling arena up to the culmination of this suffocating drama that doesn’t allow us to avert the gaze, as much as we crave for escape.
