Life in the prefabricated apartment blocks of Halle-Neustadt can be harsh, but also full of suspense, humor and adventures. A young Vietnamese girl, Thuy Linh, raises her little sister all by herself, as her mother left for Vietnam. No one should be allowed to know her secret, despite the pressure of her teacher and the youth welfare. Her friendship with Pauline, a girl from an ordinary, “normal” family, who admires Thuy Linh for her independent way of life, will give both of them a lesson on diversity, solidarity, and love.
