Gray House

The dark portrait of the American working class in f ve acts that unravel the everyday struggle for survival in the “home of the brave.” Documentary f lmmaking tools meet video art in this f rst f lm by painter Austin Lynch (son of David Lynch) – which comprises a holistic aesthetic experience that emerges the viewer in an unexplored cinematic zone. As the camera sleepwalks around serene landscapes that are yet to be contaminated by civilization, this hybrid – that is as introspective as an act of meditation and as horrifying as an Αmerican gothic art piece can be – aff ects us under the skin, by suggesting a diff erent way to approach the complexity of contemporary realities.
