61st TIFF: Greek premiere

Nikola, a destitute day-laborer, has his two children taken away from him, and despite his heart-wrenching efforts all his appeals are turned down by the social services’ head. Hopeless yet determined to make a stand against the local administration’s corruption and bureaucracy, he decides to travel across Serbia on foot, all the way to the Belgrade-based ministry. A harsh social drama that gradually transforms into a spiritual quest of a life’s castaway, who seeks redemption and dignity.
