Following years of work in the field of Modern Greek Studies, Dimitris Papanikolaou, Professor of Greek and Cultural Studies at the University of Oxford, has published the study Greek Weird Wave, A Cinema of Biopolitics (EUP), where he analyzes the diverse themes and styles of this particular cinematic movement, and proposes the concept of biopolitical realism in order to reassess its wider political and cultural significance. The aim of this presentation in the context of the Festival, is to debate the book’s arguments with members of the industry and a broader audience.
