The 64th Thessaloniki Film Festival organizes a large art exhibition with works by Nikos Kessanlis, Vlasis Caniaris, Celia Daskopoulou and Jason Molfessis, as part of the program’s main tribute to “Fantasmas”. Four of the most important Greek visual artists of the 20th century, who have passed away, return to our present with works that changed the course of modern European art. The exhibition is complemented by photographs of Dimitris Tsoumplekas, who uses his lens to observe and comment on their work.

The collection of the works of the exhibition was made possible with the support of the National Gallery – Museum of Alexandros Soutsos and the galleries CAN Christina Androulidaki Gallery, a.antonopoulou.art and Kalfayan Galleries, which granted them to the Festival gratis.
The Festival would like to wholeheartedly thank the Municipality of Thessaloniiki for granting permission to use its premises for the needs of the exhibition.

The films of the tribute “Fantasmas” are selected by guest curator Dennis Lim, artistic director of the New York Film Festival and internationally renowned film critic.
