The Greek Cultural Association of Friends of Ennio Morricone’s Music presents a great tribute to Ennio Morricone, in an evening that includes the screening of Giuseppe Tornatore’s documentary Ennio: The Maestro (attended by the composer’s son, Marco Morricone, and the film’s producer Gianni Russo), the screening of Meri Dishnica’s short Bubbles (attended by Dishnica and producer Gianni Russo), and a concert by Stavros Lantsias with the Stavros Lantsias Quartet, playing melodies that have accompanied iconic films such as Cinema Paradiso, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and many others. In the foyer are displayed, in co-production with the Kubrick - Pure Social Club, the comics created to adorn the Sketching Ennio exhibition, which focuses this year on Morricone’s westerns. Alessandro de Rosa’s book Ennio Morricone: Searching for that Sound | My Music, My Life (Metronomos, 2022) will also be on sale in the foyer. The events are held with the support of the 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival and under the auspices of the Italian Cultural Institute of Athens with the support of the Panhellenic Union of Italian Language Examiners.
