The Thessaloniki International Film Festival will bestow an honorary Golden Alexander to the renowned filmmaker Yorgos Tsemberopoulos for his overall contribution to the art of cinema, before the screening of the film The Enemy Within (2013). At the very core of Yorgos Tsemberopoulos’ film universe one finds the passions and desires of people against the backdrop of today’s metropoles and of a drastically changing Greece. The 66th TIFF will host a large-scale tribute to his work, featuring his entire full-length filmography, two universally accessible screenings, a fascinating masterclass, and the Festival’s special edition First Shot exclusively dedicated to one of Greece’s most beloved film directors, with many huge hits under his belt.
