Glory Sky: A Discussion with Mark Mazower

Takis Kanellopoulos’s anti-war masterpiece Glory Sky (1962) is presented in a fully accessible screening sponsored by accessibility sponsor Alpha Bank. After the end of the screening, the Thessaloniki International Film Festival welcomes onstage Mark Mazower, Ira D. Wallach Professor of History, director of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Public Humanities Initiative (SNFPHI) at Columbia University, and director of the Institute of Ideas and Imagination. The discussion will be devoted on the film and the key issues – now more timely than ever – that it raises concerning Greek history. The live-streamed event is organized in collaboration with SNFPHI and will be held in English with simultaneous translation in Greek. Admission is free, on issue of a zero-value ticket.
