The Rules of the Game
The Rules of the Game (La Règle du Jeu, 1939) by Jean Renoir, one of the best movies of all times, is the inspiration source of the 62nd Thessaloniki International Film Festival (4-14 November, 2021). The movie will serve as guideline and bedrock for the main – and original – exhibition of the 62nd Festival, which had been based on the International Competition films over the last four years. Within the framework of the exhibition, co-hosted by TIFF and MOMus-Experimental Center for the Arts, ten visual artists draw free inspiration from the unforgettable wry satire of Jean Renoir, creating ten original art works. The artists taking part in the exhibition are: Kyriaki Goni, Alexandros Maganiotis, Diamantis Sotiropoulos, Sofia Stevi, Dimitris Tataris, Marina Velisioti, Nikolas Ventourakis, Xenia Vitos, Stathis-Alexandros Zoulias, Doreida Xhogou.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on Saturday, November 6th, at 6pm, at the former Nursery Station (Pier A, at the Port of Thessaloniki). After its completion in Thessaloniki, the exhibition will head to Athens, at The Project Gallery (3, Normanou str, Monastiraki). Duration of the exhibition in Thessaloniki: 6/11/2021-6/12/2021. Working Hours 6/11/2021-14/11/2021: 10am-10pm. Working Hours 15/11/2021-6/12/2021:10am-6pm (Mondays closed). Duration of the exhibition in Athens: 16/12/2021-16/1/2022.
