Bobby Sands: 66 Days

IRA volunteer Bobby Sands began his hunger strike on March 1st 1981. Seeing himself as a soldier in a conflict, he died for the right to be recognized as a political prisoner. As we step through the dayspecific narrative, we see the man at the center of these tumultuous events, in a probing personal portrait that separates man from myth, and fact from fiction. Using eye-witness testimony, unseen archives, reconstructions and animation, this cinematic odyssey captures a seismic moment in 20th century history.
