50th TIFF: Honorary Event

HONORARY EVENT

Thessaloniki International Film Festival honored the bodies that have supported TIFF throughout its 50 years and continue to support the institution with a solemn event on Monday, November 16, in Port Warehouse C, where the headquarters of all the relevant bodies are.

The initiative was occasioned by TIFF’s 50th anniversary. Awards, presented by TIFF’s director Despina Mouzaki, started from the 1st floor of Warehouse C, where Ms Mouzaki honored the Greek Union of Film, Television and Audiovisual Technicians (E.T.E.K.T.), by conferring a plaque to Mr Angelos Viskadourakis, and also presenting Mr Nontas Vakalopoulos with an award. Next, Mr Dimitris Kalantidis received the award on behalf of the Greek Federation of Film Societies (O.K.L.E.), while Ms Argyro Messimeri was awarded on behalf of STUDIO-parallel circuit, along with Mr Manolis Stavrakakis. Another honorary plaque was given by Ms Mouzaki to the Greek Scriptwriters Guild (E.S.E.), handed to Mr Dinos Giotis, as well as the Hellenic Actors Union, handed to Mr Spyros Sarafianos.

The honorary event continued on the ground floor of Warehouse C, where TIFF director honored the Hellenic Audiovisual Institute and Mr Rodolfos Moronis, followed by the Greek Directors Guild president Charis Papadopoulos, and the representative of Thessaloniki’s branch Mr Kostas Efraimidis. The honorary plaque for Media Desk Hellas was received by director Ms Tina Panagopoulou. Finally, Ms Mouzaki honored the National Book Center of Greece (E.KE.BI.) and Ms Nopi Chatzigeorgiou.


In a small reception at Warehouse C’s ground floor lounge the people of TIFF and the awarded organizations had the chance to exchange views in a relaxed atmosphere.
