Dimitris Kollatos
A film and stage director, Dimitris Kollatos is also an author and playwright. He wrote his first collection of poetry in 1956 while still in high school and he was the first to stage avant-garde productions in Greece (1960-1962) – Ionesco, Beckett, Pinter. During the military junta he lived in France, where he staged over twenty theatrical productions and made two films. On his return to Greece in 1975 he put on a series of controversial plays which he wrote and directed, and continued making films and writing books. He also had his own television show, Kollatos uncensored.
