Straying in Athens (working title)

The documentary highlights the lives of stray dogs struggling in the centre of Athens and the people who take care of them. Fotoula is the “apple of discord” between the homeless Spyros and any passerby who dares to pat her. Marco loves rock music and hangs out in Monastiraki Square. The ageing Legend, suffering from arthritis, stoically waits for his end on Ermou Street. Aris fights for his freedom away from the dog pound. Sweetie, gravely ill, at the entrance of the Grande Bretagne Hotel, enjoys the caresses of tourists. A hidden world full of surprises, humour, surreal and dramatic situations emerges from the invisible paths of the strays tramping around the city and unveils another unexpected face of modern Athens.
