Ken Loach

He was born in 1936 in Nuneaton, England and studied Law at Oxford. He made his feature debut, Poor Cow, in 1967, and with Kes (1969) he directed what is today celebrated as one of the most superb British films ever made. The following two decades Loach continued working both in TV and as a feature filmmaker, making fiction and documentaries, although his films at the time were unsuccessfully distributed. He made a stunning comeback in the 1990s, with a series of politically engaged films of social realism that won numerous international awards and established him as one of Εurope’s great directors.
