In a heartfelt event, the 66th TIFF honored the film critic Ninos Phenek Mikelides for his lifetime contribution to cinema on Sunday, November 2nd, at the Pavlos Zannas theatre. At the same time, Mr. Mikelides prefaced Sylvain Chomet’s film A Magnificent Life, screened as part of the spotlight to Marcel Pagnol hosted by the 66th Thessaloniki International Film Festival.

The 66th TIFF’s Agora Series Masterclass, titled “From Page to Screen, with Saverio Costanzo, on Making My Brilliant Friend” was successfully held on Sunday, November 2nd, in the Pavlos Zannas theater. During the event, which was moderated by film critic, Poly Lykourgou, the acclaimed director and scriptwriter Saverio Costanzo analyzed the creative process he experienced as a director, creator, and showrunner of the series My Brilliant Friend, HBO and Rai’s internationally celebrated adaptation of Elena Ferrante’s novel of the same name.

On Sunday, November 2, as part of the 66th TIFF’s Agora Talks, a panel discussion titled “Quick Fix or Long-Term Strategy: Redefining the Relationship Between Cinema and Television” was held in collaboration with the Hellenic Producers Association (SAPOE). The panel was introduced by Angeliki Vergou, Head of the Agora, who welcomed the speakers and expressed her appreciation to the members of SAPOE.
