62nd THESSALONIKI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
The 62nd TIFF called it a wrap, with success, in an emotionally charged ambience
It was a Festival different than the others. The 62nd Thessaloniki Film Festival returned, after two difficult years, to the movie theaters, its natural turf, where cinema breathes and lives, where we all of us discover the next movies that will become the benchmarks of our life.
With a total of 68,000 viewers, the 62nd Thessaloniki Film Festival wrapped up on Sunday November 14, with the closing ceremony.
In the last Festival that held with physical screenings, the anniversary 60th TIFF, 390 screenings took place, while this year, at the 62nd Festival, 193 screenings were carried out in physical screenings, in accordance with all sanitary protocols. Proportionally adjusting the ration tickets/screenings, this year’s attendance remained at the same level, reaching an impressive 88% of the theaters’ capacity. Therefore, we would like to than the audience for trusting us once again!
Within the framework of Agora’s development actions, 450 meeting between 320 movie industry professionals from Greece and abroad took place. We sincerely hope that this groundwork would pave the way for new scenarios, projects and movies. The huge attendance of students and young people at the masterclasses of the Festival’s “In the Cut: Editing and its Secrets” was overwhelming, with back to back sold-outs.
During the Festival, more than 3,000 visitors visited the Festival’s exhibition, “The Rules of the Game”, which will remain open to the public until the end of November, at the former Nursery Station (Pier A, Port). After its completion in Athens, the exhibition will travel to Athens, where it will be showcased at the Project Gallery.
