Submit your film to the 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival (2-12/11/2023)

The 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival will take place from November 2nd to November 12th 2023, and has the pleasure to announce that film submissions are now open. 

Submission dates are as follows:

The submissions also concern Immersive / VR projects (no entry fee). Deadline for Immersive / VR projects: August 10th.

The submissions for Greek films will open in July.

TIFF has four competition sections: International Competition (a program with first or second feature-length fiction films from across the Globe), Meet the Neighbors Competition (with first or second feature-length fiction films from Greece's extended "neighborhood"; see the festival regulations for the list of eligible countries), the >>Film Forward Competition section (with first of second feature-length fiction films characterized by their innovative approach to cinema), and the Immersive: All Around Cinema Competition section (with Immersive / VR films).

Moreover, in the International Program we find the sections: Open Horizons and the Open Horizons – Another Take subsection, Balkan Survey, Special Screenings, Out of Competition and ’Round Midnight.

The films of the International Competition section are eligible for the following awards:

- Golden Alexander “Theo Angelopoulos” (Best Full-length Feature Film Award, accompanied by a cash prize of 10,000 euros)

-  Silver Alexander (Special Jury Award, accompanied by a cash prize of 5,000 euros)

-  Bronze Alexander (Special Jury Award for Best Director; Cosmote TV, the Major Sponsor of the Festival, supports the award with a cash prize of 3,000 euros).

- Best Actor Award

- Best Actress Award

- Best Artistic Achievement or Best Screenplay Award.

The films of the Meet the Neighbors competition section will compete for the Golden Alexander award (accompanied by an 8,000 euros cash prize) and the Silver Alexander (Special Jury Award, accompanied by a 4,000 euros cash prize).

The films of the >>Film Forward competition section will compete for the Golden Alexander >>Film Forward, accompanied by a cash prize of 8,000 euros, as well as for the Silver Alexander-Special Jury Award >>Film Forward, offering a cash prize of 4,000 euros.

The films of the Immersive: All Around Cinema competition section vie for the Golden Alexander-Best Immersive International Competition Award, accompanied with a cash prize of 2,000 euros.

The LGBTQI-themed films vie for the Mermaid award, supported by Mastercard; the award is accompanied by a cash prize of 3,000 euros.
