This monograph, dedicated to probably the most important director of the Mexican cinema, poet of the seclusion and closed spaces, includes: a section of informative introductory texts, an extensive and remarkably interesting interview with the director by Andrea Martini and Nuria Vidal, texts by the director himself, complete list of his films from 1965, when at the age of 21 shot his first film, Time to Die, to 1996 (21 feature and 11 short and middle-length films in total) with critical comments from acclaimed critics. In the rare photo archive, which accompanies the publication, apart from the snapshots of the Mexican filmmaker with Buñuel (on his set, Ripstein learned about cinema), we see the festival collaborator, Alexis Grivas, Director of Photography of Arturo Ripstein at the end of 60s.
