Film critic of the 70s (one of the few with academic film studies) with an insightful perception, ethos and personal writing style, Babis Aktsoglou, who passed away when he was only 53 years old, shaped the definition of film criticism in Greece, expanding its borders. With insightful and carefully edited to the last detail texts, in magazines, the daily press, from his books and the exceptional monographs he edited in his long-lasting collaboration with the festival, and through the film section of Athinorama (from 1987 to 2007), he cultivated his passion with passion, doing his job with deontology and rules, and that is why he managed to transmit it to others. The festival honors his memory by publishing some of his most interesting and distinctive texts on films and cinema.
