This publication, edited by Babis Aktsoglou and Achilleas Kyriakidis, is a journey to the history of Greek cinema: 80 films and 80 directors, from 1924 with The Adventures of Villar by Joseph Hepp to 1998 with the film by Konstantinos Giannaris, From the Edge of the City. A journey through the full range (thematic and aesthetic, mainstream and artistic, old and new) of the Greek cinema. Each one of the films is accompanied by credits, synopsis and director’s biography, while the publication closes with a brief but essential history of Greek cinema in two parts: 1906-1966 by Ninos Fenek Mihelidis and 1967-1999 by Giannis Bakogiannopoulos.
